Recipe Remix: Shawrito
I was making lunch today and noticed that I had about half of the ingredients for a shawarma and half the ingredients for a burrito, but not all the ingredients for either one or the other. Then the more I thought about it, the more I realized that a shawarma and a burrito weren't all that exclusively different. So today I created the shawrito, a shawarma and burrito hybrid.
- Potatoes
- Margarine
- Ground Beef
- Soy Sauce
- Cooking Wine
- Garlic
- Onions
- Frozen Green Peas (cook in microwave)
- BBQ sauce and tomato sauce
- Chili Powder
- Cumin
- Ground dried mangerine peel
- Oregano
- Ground Black Pepper
- Salt
- Hot Chili Sauce
- Shreded Lettuce
- Diced Tomato
- Grated Cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- Pita bread
- Marinade ground beef with soy sauce and cooking wine.
- Boil potatos, peel, mash, mix with margarine, black pepper and salt.
- Stir fry garlic, onions, ground beef, green peas, BBQ and tomato sauce, all spices, chili sauce.
- Cut pita bread in half, spread mashed potatos, add cheese, add ground beef mixture, add lettuce and tomato.
- Enjoy.
